How I Dealt With Grief Spiritually
Jun 06, 2022
I’ve been mia for a while because my dad passed away recently. He went for a doctor visit on early April and was diagnosed with cancer and in less than a month, he suddenly passed away. He was the best dad I could’ve asked for in this lifetime. He was always there for me and always always believed in me. I don’t remember a single time when he doubted me or took his anger/ frustration out on me, until the last days in the hospital when he was in most pain.
I grieved and cried for weeks because I was remembering the good times we shared and the love he showed me. I cried also because I felt regrets and was punishing myself continuously saying things to myself like “only if I brought him to the doctor earlier”, “I shouldn’t have said that to him last year”, “I wasn’t successful enough to give him more allowance” and the list goes on. Most of the pain was from regrets, fear of the unknown- life after death, and feeling of "losing" someone.
It took me about 1 month of grieving to snap out of it. Thank god for the self development work and the wisdom I gained over the years doing the spiritual work. It was all prepping me to go through life’s sudden changes and still get back up again.
What helped me go through this period was mindful practices like feeling into my emotions, emotional freedom tapping(EFT) and being the observer of my thoughts. I also manifested the perfect book for this time. The book is called “Discovering Your Soul Mission” by karmaic astrologer and holistic teacher Linda Brady and coauthor Michael Brady.
The book was about how our soul mission was determined before we were born and we can use karmic astrology to create the most fulfilling life possible. The book was a reminder that we are all just fulfilling our karma, destiny that our soul determined before we got here.
The persona and the role (as dad, mom, daughter, wife, teacher, etc) is an act we put on in this lifetime that was determined before we reincarnated. I personally see it as a game, playing a character. I can either enjoy the character and the background I was given and learn the lessons or fight against it - which doesn’t make sense because our soul actually CHOSE the exact journey to learn and evolve.
This book helped me really remember that we are just souls playing specific astrology signs in this lifetime.
Who we actually are are the soul that’s within and it never dies.
The soul is ever present, there is no actual “death”.
The body is just a shell.
We are all just here to learn, experience, heal, evolve and then do it again.
The book also guide you to find your South Node and North Node. By knowing yours, you can understand your life’s mission at this lifetime and live a more fulfilling life.
South Node= The gift and qualities we bring from our past lives. We are already good at this.
North Node= The lessons we came to learn.
You can easily look up yours if you know your birth date, time, city and read about it here for the easiest explanation. For example, according to my birth info, my South Node is Cancer and my North Node is Capricorn and mine says "Capricorn north node people have had many lifetimes as caretakers, mothers, wives and dependents. In this lifetime, they are learning the exciting new world of self-sufficiency. Capricorn north nodes are moving from the role of nurturer to the role of provider." - Astrostyle.com
How I dealt with grief after letting go of my dad’s physical body/presence was remembering that there is no death and his soul is still around. His vibration and energy is accessible if I tune into it.
We will all experience letting go of our body but there is no need to be afraid because there is no death and our soul still goes on. At this lifetime, we can live our best given life to learn, heal, evolve and appreciate this experience and everyone we meet along the way.
P.S. it’s so wonderful to have amazing support and love from family and friends. Thank you everyone who reached out and sent me loving messages
